Sarah Beeny, one of our valued Kariandusi School Trust Patrons, is well known as a property developer, television presenter and co-founder of the dating website 'My Single Friend'. Her new series of her TV show, 'Property Snakes and Ladders' is being broadcast on Channel 4.
In an interview with Sarah featured in the Financial Times on Saturday 20 June 09, Angus Watson asked her which charitable cause she felt most passionately about. Read the full story for her response...

Sarah Beeny's response to Angus Watson's question on which cause she felt most passionately about was, naturally, Kariandusi School Trust.

Sarah went on to say "It is a charity where you can absolutely guarantee that not one penny is wasted. Colonel Harry Vialou Clark, who set it up, is a most inspiring man. Every time I meet him I think I have to get my act together and do something meaningful with my life. He absolutely believes in what he does and he's achieved incredible things with little money. He's built schools in rural Kenya and awarded scholarships to children."

On being asked if she ensures her donations are used effectively, Sarah goes on to say "... I worked for a big charity and saw it wantonly wasting hideous amounts of money. Kariandusi is absolutely grassroots raw charity... ...There's no creaming off the top in any way."

Sarah admits that her young family and heavy workload prevents her giving much time, but her interest in and support of the Kariandusi School Trust is invaluable and much appreciated by her colleagues and all the thousands of Kenyan children whose lives she helps to change.

Thank you, Sarah. You make a real difference.
